About Me

about DON

For 23 years, Don Brien Gatewood has led a several nonprofit initiatives in Detroit and Washington DC. Gatewood has led large teams, program operations, strategic planning, accounting, communications, compliance regulations, fundraising for several organizations including American Red Cross and Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit and Washington and the Center for Workforce Inclusion.

Gatewood is current cofounder and CEO of The Initiative Baltimore; a Professional Leadership Consultant, and the host of the podcast-- Leadership and Professional Development with Don Gatewood. He completed his bachelor’s studies at Wayne State University and master’s degree at University of Maryland. Gatewood also has a certified workforce development professional, DTM in Toastmaster’s International, Board of Director at Oglethorpe, Member of a Labor Management Committee and Benefits Contract Negotiator.
